Dai-ichi Life employees donate blood

(The Saigon Times Daily - January 09, 2009) - More than 100 staff and financial consultants of Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Vietnam (Dai-ichi Life Vietnam) donated their blood on Thursday under the “Blood Donation 2009” program organized in collaboration with the Red Cross in HCMC.
Takashi Fujii, general director of Dai-ichi Life Vietnam, said “Blood is a precious gift … our sharing here will connect closely life to life, man to man.” He added that every day thousands of less fortunate people need blood donations to be saved. Therefore, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam will maintain and extend the blood donation program in this country.
“Blood Donation 2009” is part of the “Heart in Action” campaign carried out by Dai-ichi Life Vietnam in this market. The company has regularly held and joined community activities under the campaign.
Dai-ichi Life Vietnam was established in January 2007 as a member of Dai-ichi Mutual Life Company in Japan. Vietnam is the first foreign market where Dai-ichi Life has 100% onwership.
In January 2008, the Ministry of Finance gave approval for Dai-ichi Life Vietnam to increase its charter capital to US$72 million from US$25 million, becoming one of the largest foreign investment life insurance companies in Vietnam.
