Dai-ichi Life Vietnam granted gifts to needy fishermen in the Central

On June 13th, 2016, representatives of the Board of directors, management team, and the financial consultants of Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Vietnam, Limited ("Dai-ichi Life Vietnam") collaborated with the People’s Committe of Cam Nhuong Commune, Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh Province, to visit and offer 50 gift portions worth VND 50 million, each consisting of VND 1 million and other necessities, for 50 fisherman families suffering from the mass fish deaths in Ha Tinh in the past months.

 

In the framework of this charity program, on June 14th, 2016, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam continued to co-operate with the Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri Province to visit and support 50 gifts valued at VND 50 million for affected fishermen in Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province, bringing the total to 100 gifts worth VND 100 million contributed by Dai-ichi Life Vietnam to help fishermen in Ha Tinh and Quang Tri quickly overcome difficulties and settle life. 

Mr. Tran Dinh Quan, General Director of Dai-ichi Life Vietnam, said: “With our business philosophy “Thinking people first”, each member of Dai-ichi Life Vietnam is imbued with the spirit of community sharing and support in order to bring sustainable values to the society. When visiting the local affected families, we are touched by the difficult circumstance due to the mass fish death, as fishing and seafood trading are the main occupations here. We hope the support from our employees and financial consultants today will be a source of encouragement for them to promptly resolve immediate difficulties, have confidence to recover from hardships, and soon settle fishing activities.”

Aiming to serve the long-term interests of the community, and contributing to the development of a better society, on April 6th, 2016, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has officially received the establishment license issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the Corporate Social Responsibility Foundation “For a better life”. Regular and long-term community support programs focusing on the fields of healthcare, education, environment and charity with nationwide scale will be implemented by the CSR Foundation in upcoming time, demonstrating the company’s strong commitment towards developing a sustainable society and to make long-term contibutions for the sake of community benefits”, Mr. Quan added.

Besides its efficient business activities, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has proudly been the pioneer in many charitable and social programs with contribution of over VND15 billion, such as financing eye operations for the poor blinds, providing clean drinking water for rural schools, funding scholarships for the needy and hard-working pupils, offering aids for the families affected by floods in the Central provinces, donating warm clothes for the highlands children, rural bridge building program, blood donation program,… Dai-ichi Life Vietnam was honored to be awarded the “Corporate Social Responsibility Award” twice by the magazine Asia Insurance Review, the 1st time in 2013 for the program “For a better life” – installing water purifying system to provide clean drinking water to more than 18,000 pupils of the schools in rural areas of Vietnam, and the 2nd time in November 2015 for the program “A million red bricks, bridging the happiness” – building 10 traffic bridges to facilitate safe and convenient travel for villagers in rural areas.
